They have been characterised using IR, PXRD, SEM, EDAX and UV spectral analyses. The efficiency of these MOFs in the sensing of toxic heavy metal ions such as cadmium, lead and chromium was analysed using the changes observed in the UV absorption spectra. Their efficiency in sensing these ions in water having a mixture of these ions have also been analysed.
