Abstract Since the nineties anabolic steroids and steroid containing food supplements have been developed and marketed insistently in athletic world as legal nutritional supplements that can enhance performance of the athletes. Steroids are anabolic drugs that are actually the synthetic derivatives of testosterone. After the introduction of these products in the market, an abuse has been suspected in the sports community. Their usage and sale is widespread in the athletic environment, particularly in the events like football, body building, and weight lifting. Now their consistent use has been recognized as a serious health and ethical problem. Their misuse can cause psychological or emotional dependence.
