Online published on 15 October, 2015. Summary In order to determine suitable pre-sowing treatment for enhancing germination and vigour of lentil, variety ‘K 75’ was treated with aqueous solution of five growth regulators (GA3, IAA, NAA, IBA with 50 and 100 ppm and Alar with 5 and 10 ppm for 6 hrs). The GA3 was found significantly superior to others for enhancing germination, root and shoot length, seedling dry weight, brick gravel test, seedling vigour index and speed of germination. Alar (10 ppm) showed higher non-significant effect on seed germination and vigour. Among various concentrations of growth regulators, 100 ppm was significantly better than 50 ppm in GA3, IAA, IBA and NAA. Top Keywords Germination, Lentil, Plant growth regulators, Vigour. Top |
