Abstract Manufacturers of medium & large capacity transformers when under time/cost pressure tend to make some manufacturing/design variations. The variances are generally noticed after the manufacturing tests are conducted and only when compared to sister units. Recently, for a couple of cases, deviations were noticed but at the stage of commissioning when hardly any thing can be done. This Article is an excerpt of author's paper in 78th Annual International Conference of Doble Clients that suggests how SFRA can arrest the problem at manufacturing stage to give the buyer an advantage of getting comparable sister unit.
