Abstract A study was conducted to know the characteristic and constraints of garlic growers in adoption of improve production technology at Chhindwara and Betul comes under the Satpura Plateau agro climatic zone of Madhya Pradesh. Study revels that the maximum number of responded possessed medium knowledge (51.79 per cent), the main source of information were progressive farmers (87.61 per cent), relative/friends (73.21 per cent), literature (66.07 per cent) and local dealers (68.65 per cent). Garlic growers had also gathered the information through demonstration and group discussion. The State department and State Agricultural University had also played the major role in transformed the technologies. The major constraints faced by the garlic grower were lack knowledge about the source of seed availability and higher cost of planting material. Input and out put ratio Non availability of credit in due course of time and technical knowledge and guidance were also the constraints. Top Keywords Knowledge, constraints, adoption, garlic. Top |
