Art has been a way to communicate beliefs and express ideas about the human experiences throughout all stages of civilization and in every region of the world. As cultural documents work of art provide important insights into past and existing world and helps us to understand and express life of people. Aesthetics, the philosophical study of Beauty is closely related to the philosophy of art. While sharing a relationship with Art, Beauty also shares a relationship with Time, which is an incessant part of human lives and also their constant companion. The progression of time generally brings change and progress in the state of beauty. Time and art are related to each other in terms of aesthetics or Beauty in a way that time is responsible for ravaging and moralizing beauty while a piece of Art immortalize it forever. Through art, beauty overcomes time. Shakespeare, a great sonneteer describes the relation between Time and Art in terms of beauty in most of his sonnets. Several sonnets written by him symbolize the passage of time in order to show that a form of beauty present in nature is mortal and the piece of art makes the beauty immortal forever. The paper aims to discuss the power of an artist that lies in immortalizing the beauty through his piece of art through the sonnets of Shakespeare that are dedicated to his friend and beloved. The paper intends to consider some of the famous sonnets of Shakespeare in order to explore the relationship between Beauty, Art and Time in various ways.
