Abstract The teacher effectiveness is affected by the motivation with which they work, especially at primary stage. The teacher works in the school for development of children. The students academic achievement and interest in school activities, depends on work motivation of their teachers. There are persons who lack sincerity at work. In the present context of right to education act, it is important to discuss the role of motivated teachers and their performances in schools. This paper incorporates conceptual analysis of work motivation of primary school teachers and identifies main motivational factors based on theoretical and empirical studies findings.
