Abstract

The goal of corporate social responsibility (CSR) is to motivate companies to put their attention on enhancing sustainable growth while positively influencing the social order. Additionally, India is one of the few nations in the world that has made CSR mandatory, which is a fantastic method to interact with society. Corporate governance, business ethics, and relationships in the workplace and in the business world are all parts of CSR. CSR in higher education is a newly developed idea. Numerous corporations have acknowledged their social obligations and recognized their significant contributions to the socioeconomic advancement of the country by supporting the twin causes of employment and education. Universities and higher education institutions nowadays require strong corporate strategies to thrive in a highly competitive environment. CSR promotes ongoing development of higher education institutions' internal resources, managerial effectiveness, and external influence. Strong business strategies are necessary for universities, especially private ones, to succeed in the fiercely competitive education sector. In this way, CSR emerges as one of higher education institutions' top recommended methods for building a solid reputation and a competitive edge. In the perspective of social responsibility practices, this study seeks to assess higher education. The study's key result is that management support and internalization of CSR initiatives are necessary for an institution's CSR strategy to be effective. This paper, the study follows a discussion of CSR in higher education, areas of CSR practises in higher education, and various implementation strategies also explore the significance of CSR for promoting education and various initiatives of companies in the education sector as a corporate responsibility to expand education. Since the subject at hand is primarily descriptive, only secondary sources of information are consulted. For the study, the data were acquired from reliable books, journals, and articles.
