Abstract

Digital preservation in digital libraries is a critical and multifaceted process aimed at ensuring the long-term accessibility, integrity, and usability of digital content. As the volume of digital information continues to grow exponentially, digital libraries have become essential repositories for a wide range of digital assets, including text documents, images, audio, video, and more. Digital preservation in digital libraries is vital for ensuring the long-term accessibility and usability of digital collections. This abstract provides an overview of the challenges faced in digital preservation within digital libraries. These challenges include the ever-evolving nature of technology and file formats, ensuring the authenticity and integrity of digital content, managing the costs and resources required for preservation efforts, addressing issues related to copyright and access control, and building sustainable preservation strategies that can adapt to changing needs and technologies. Overcoming these challenges is essential to safeguarding our digital heritage and ensuring that valuable digital resources remain accessible to future generations.
