Abstract

The manner in which knowledge is handled while keeping and spreading has altered due to the rapid growth in ICT. Radical knowledge expansion has influenced all organisations, including contemporary libraries. In the age of globalisation, there have been significant changes in all areas of libraries due to the evolving notion of knowledge management and the global ICT revolution. Over the last several decades, knowledge management has caught the attention of LIS specialists. Originally a feature of the business world, knowledge management also started to appear in modern libraries. This article covers the key components of the knowledge management process as well as the technologies and tools utilised, their contents, required resources, and advantages as KM tools.
