Abstract This research paper aims to explore and unravel the information seeking techniques employed in historical libraries. By delving into ancient pathways, we seek to understand how individuals in the past accessed and retrieved knowledge within these unique repositories. In order to analyse distinct historical library contexts, the research takes an interdisciplinary approach, fusing components of history, archaeology, and information science. We intend to reconstruct the procedures utilised to discover and get information by investigating original materials, such as manuscripts, scrolls, and inscriptions, as well as secondary sources, such as historical records and scholarly publications. By dissecting these methods, we may learn more about the cultural norms and intellectual traditions surrounding information seeking in historical libraries. This study is significant for modern library science because it illuminates how information retrieval techniques have changed and provides insightful advice for creating compelling, user-friendly libraries in the digital era.
