Effect of heat stress on serum phosphatases in calves Kataria N, Kataria AK College of Veterinary and Animal Science, Bikaner – 334 001 (Rajasthan). Summary The study was conducted on 98 calves of either sex belonging to farmers' stock of the villages nearby Bikaner and Jaisalmer district. The calves were categorized on breed and sex basis. The overall mean values of alkaline and acid phosphatases were 61.80 ± 1.50 and 11.89 ± 0.45; 68.10 ± 1.50 and 14.9 ± 0.8; and 54.35 ± 1.43 and 10.00 ± 0.34 (IU/L), respectively in Rathi, Tharparkar and crossbred calves.
