Abstract The aim of the present study was to assess the perceived social support by cancer patients. The sample consisted of 50 cancer patients, of which 25 were males and 25 were females cancer patients with the age range of 30 to 55 years, and they were selected from different hospitals of Varanasi following purposive sampling method. Hindi adaptation of P.G.I. Social Support Questionnaire (Nehra, Kulhara and Verma, 1998) was used to collect the data. Data was analyzed using one way ANOVA. The results showed that the mean score of female cancer patients were higher than male cancer patient on social support scale. But however, no significant difference was found between female and male cancer patients in social support. Top Keywords Cancer, Social-support. Top | |
