A case study on the use of coir geotextiles for stabilizing a steep slope Balan K. Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, College of Engineering, Trivandrum Online published on 12 December, 2012. Abstract Stabilisation of a steep slope of 5 m vertical height using coir erosion control blanket (ECB) over a conventional retaining wall of 9 m height is presented in this paper. Being a cricket stadium and the slope face is coming towards the main entrance rock pitching was not adopted and hence a soil bioengineering solution is adopted. The project was implemented in September 2010 and has undergone two rainy seasons till July 2011. Top | |
