Abstract

The plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) and different nanoparticle treatments were performed to manage Fusarium wilt infection in castor (Ricinus communis L.). Biochemical parameters viz., total chlorophyll, chlorophyll stability index (CSI), soluble protein and antioxidant enzymes (superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GPX) and polyphenol oxidase (POX)) were determined during disease development stages under influence of nanoparticle treatments. The chlorophyll content, CSI, SOD, GPX and POX enzymes were enhanced during disease development stages by seed treatment of PGPR + chitosan nanoparticles and sown under Fusarium infected soil. However, soluble proteins at S3 stage (51 days after sowing) were found to be elevated by seed treated with chitosan nanoparticles + green silver nanoparticles. Results accomplished that seed priming with chitosan nanoparticles (CNPs) in combination with green silver nanoparticles or PGPR would be found better for boosting up the antioxidant enzymes to restrain Fusarium wilt infection in castor.
