Darjeeling, 734013 Online published on 18 December, 2023. Abstract This research paper aims to analyse the impact of government procurement on the price stability of West Bengal. Through a comprehensive analysis, this study investigates the importance of procurement of paddy through the government machinery and its impact on the price stability in the state of West Bengal. It delves into the practises, specifically focusing on infrastructure and the price support system. Employing a mixed-methods approach, primary data has been collected through questionnaires, accompanied by the utilisation of pertinent secondary sources, to examine the state of West Bengal, India. The study was conducted on a sample size of 827, which was collected from all the districts of West Bengal. And the results indicated that factors like fraudulency in the government procurement system, a lack of agricultural marketing infrastructure, and higher production costs are the prime reasons for price instability in agriculture. The paper concludes with policy recommendations and future research directions to support the widespread adoption of sustainable agricultural practises and achieve resilient and inclusive food systems.
