Technological adoption and constraints faced by FPC maize growers in davangere district of Karnataka Nayak S S Pramod, Siddayya, Gunadal Narayan Murigeppa, Honyal Arun Shivayogi Agri-Business Management, IABM, College of Agricultural, UAS, GKVKBangalore Online published on 18 December, 2023. Abstract Davangere district has the highest production of maize in Karnataka and FPC promoted by different organizations in the districts are involved in activities of Backward and forward linkage supports to maize growers. Hence, an attempt was made in the present study to analyse technological adoption and constraints in maize production and marketing with a comparison of FPC farmer members and non-FPC farmer members. The study findings indicate that All the FPC sample farmers possessed soil health cards but only 73.33 per cent of the FPC farmers adopted recommendations of soil health cards while only 33.33 per cent of non-FPC farmers possessed soil health cards with only 13.33 per cent adoption of recommendations of soil health card. Though fall armyworm is a major pest problem in the study area, adoption of IPM and IDM was very low. Similarly, the adoption of improved irrigation methods (drip) was low at 50 per cent. Overall, in terms of technology adoption, FPC farmers fared better compared to non-FPC farmers as FPC conducted capacity-building training programmes for member farmers.
