Abstract Farmer Producer Organization plays a vital role in the development of agricultural sector because they equip small and marginal farmers, who often struggle to access their resources and obtain ethical pricing for their produce. The CEOs and the Board of Directors were the building blocks of FPOs, who worked together to enhance the success and sustainability of FPOs. FPOs helps small and marginal farmers for improving their overall socio-economic development. The study aimed to assess the perception of CEOs and BODs towards financial managerial skill, business skill, marketing skill and soft skill for FPOs development. Descriptive statistics was used for analysing the perception of CEOs and BODs. The findings revealed that more than 60.8 per cent CEOs and BODs have medium level of perception, whereas 19.2 and 20 percent were found in high and low level of perception of financial managerial skill, business skill, marketing skill and soft skills. The reason for medium level of perception was adequate awareness of the CEOs and BODs about the importance of these skills. They were expressed need of training for these domains which will facilitate to improve their FPOs success and sustainability. They expressed the need of training in the areas of business planning, packaging and branding the product, networking, exporting and value addition.
