Abstract

The mortality and culling data of 457 adult Beetal goats for 18 years indicated that 29% of the total left the flock after first lactation and the probability of a goat staying in the flock decreased along parity order coming down to 0.046 after fifth lactation. About 43% of the total goats in the flock belonged to first parity. The average birth rate (percentage of female kids born) was found to be 0.504. The reproductive rate was 0.85 and the generation interval was 2.04 years.
