Gradulay, Internet users increased in exponential and Internet also started to offer unlimited functions therefore it posing new security challenges. The day-to-day activities manage such as on-line transaction, e-commerce, e-payment, e-banking, e-governance and many other services are started to cater the customers needs through the Internet. In this digital industrialization age, Information and Commutation Technology (ICT) play vital role and become essential for all organizations to run the business. Every establishment uses the ICT for running and expanding their business. In this hyper-connected world, protecting our network and data from unauthorized access are big challenge. Network security is an mechanism/method to protect the essential Network infrastructures, devices, crucial data and sensitive information from harmful destructive external threats. The full-proof cyber defence with advanced threat detection and response system are very necessary. Firewall, is the device to protect the organization network from internal and external destructive interaction. It is an gateway level security appliances and the results were encouraging. But, as the Internet uses grown, the types of the threats and hackers techniques changed due to that these appliances could not prove full efficient to protect the network. The personal firewall can be used for individual machine but in organization, dedicated firewall are used to prevent the attacks from outside network. Firewall runs on organization security policy. The Next Generation Firewall provides the security beyond the traditional firewall along with additional features to block the modern threats. In this paper we are discussing about the implementation of Next Generation Firewall (NGF) system for Network Security Management and protecting the scientific and business data at CWPRS Local Area Network (CLAN). The Next Generation Firewall has been successfully implemented for protecting the network infrastructure, scientific data and devices from external possible cyber attacks.
