Online published on 18 April, 2014. Abstract In 1960, Thedore Maiman, a scientist with the Hughes aircraft corporation, developed the first working laser device which emitted a deep red colored beam from a ruby crystal. However, Dr. Leon Goldman, a dermatologist, who had been experimenting with tattoo removal using the ruby laser, in 1965, focused two pulses of that red light on a tooth of his dentist brother. The result was a painless surface crazing of the enamel. We are presenting a case report in which use of lasers is combined with veneering to achieve optimal esthetics.
