Abstract

Tobacco has been associated with cancer for many decades. As the wheel of time moves into 2050 the prime vision for India should be “health for all”. In a developing nation like India, which thrives under the evil shadows of innumerable diseases not only the treatment modalities pose a Herculean task but the prevention of the disease in itself is a big challenge. Hospital wards are screaming aloud that we have not learnt our lessons and a lot of effort needs to be put to end this “tobacco era”. The purpose of this article is to review and research tobacco and its deleterious effects.
