Online published on 6 April, 2019. Abstract Cigarettes have health warning over their packets with the purpose of warning the consumer about the potential risks of the product. Even though the warning clearly shows that cigarettes cause cancer and may lead to death, their effect on smokers is questionable. This questionnaire based study was carried out among smokers within the armed forces in the state of Punjab and Assam to know the effect of health warnings printed over cigarette packets on smokers.
