Abstract Neurofibromatosis (NF) is an autosomal-dominant disorder, characterized by neurocutaneous tumors arising within multiple organs, which the diagnosis is made based on clinical criteria proposed by National Institute of Health Consensus Development Conference. Neurofibromatosis type I (NF-1), also termed as von Recklinghausen's disease, is the most common type accounting 90% of the cases.
