Abstract

Life table studies of Plutella xylostella revealed that the larvae fed on Gibberalic acid (GA3) + Pseudomonas fluorescens treated cauliflower leaves had a gross reproductive rate (GRR) of 89 and 86.4 female eggs per female on the untreated and treated leaves, respectively. The value of net reproductive rate (Ro) was 69.54 and 61.05 indicating that P. xylostella multiply 69.54 and 61.05 times on the untreated and treated leaves in the generation time (T) of 24.37 and 25.69 days, respectively. The species had an intrinsic rate of natural increase of 0.17 and 0.15 females per day on untreated and treated leaves with a daily finite rate of increase (λ) of 1.19 and 1.17 females per day, the population would multiply 3.38 and 3.06 times every week. The doubling time (DT) of the population was 4.01 days on untreated and 4.34 days on treated cauliflower leaves.
