Abstract Present study was focused on the diversity and seasonal abundance of nymphalids along with vegetation composition of habitat and conservation priorities in the Kotayk province in Armenia. A total of 63 species of nymphalids belonging to 7 subfamilies and 28 genera were recorded during July, 2013 to October, 2015. Satyrinae was the most dominant subfamily in terms of number of species, represented by 32 species followed by Argynninae (10), Nymphalinae (9), Melitaeinae (8), Limenitidinae (2), Apaturinae (1), and Libytheinae (1). On the basis of their abundance, 8 species (13%) were estimated as very rare, 14 (22%) as rare, 24 (38%) as not rare, 8(13%) were common and 9 (14%) very common.
