Abstract In vitro efficacy of extracts of neem and karanj was evaluated alone and in combination with cypermethrin on arthropod intermediate hosts viz., ticks, oribatid mites, lice and ants. The results revealed that cypermethrin + neem and cypermethrin + karanj showed 100% efficacy against oribatid mites, lice and ants within an hour, while cypermethrin + neem and cypermethrin + karanj showed 84% and 100% efficacy against ticks at 48 h, respectively.
