Currently 23 species under five families (Termopsidae, Kalotermitidae, Stylotermitidae, Rhinotermitidae and Termitidae) and ten genera are known from Himachal Pradesh. As a member of the highly specialized termite family Termitidae, A. belli is unique among other termites found in India, due to backwardly directed tooth.
