Abstract Eight species belonging to six genera viz., Thysanoplusia Ichinose, Chrysodeixis Hubner, Trichoplusia McDunnough, Argyrogramma Hubner, Autographa Hubner and Anadevidia Kostrowicki of the subfamily Plusiinae were collected from different parts of India. Among these were eight species considered as important pests in agricultural ecosystems. This paper provides the details of host plants, diagnostics and keys for their identification along with descriptions of male and female genitalia.
