Abstract

Spider mites are one of the major pests of vegetable, ornamental and fruit crops, causing considerable loss in yield. The two-spotted spider mite (TSSM), Tetranychus urticae Koch, is a common phytophagous mite that feeds on many fruits, vegetables, ornamental plants, and field crops. The experiment revealed that its coccinellid predator Cycloneda sanguinea completed its developmental stages i.e., egg, four larval instars, and pupae with an average of 3.06 ± 0.25, 5.50 ± 0.66 and 3.20 ± 0.20 days, respectively.
