Abstract

An experiment conducted at the AICRP on Water Management, VNMKV, Parbhani, during 2014 and 2015 evaluated the efficacy of insecticides against mango hoppers Amritodus atkinsoni L. and their natural enemies. Amongst the eight insecticides evaluated thiamethoxam, clothianidin and dinotefuran were found to be effective. Flonicamid, acetamiprid and imidacloprid were found to be moderately effective, and buprofezin and dinotefuran were the least effective. Flonicamid, buprofezin and thiamethoxam were observed to be comparatively safe to lady bird beetles.
