Online published on 24 September, 2020. Abstract Sitophilus oryzae (L.) is the most destructive stored grain pest. In the present study, orientation of S. oryzae adults towards seven cultivars of wheat commonly grown in Himachal Pradesh was evaluated. The results revealed that maximum adults oriented towards HPW-236 while the least was towards HPW-360. The germination was in direct proportion to the orientation and it was maximum with HPW-360 and at par with HPW-349 and HS-490 after 4 months of storage and at par with HPW-349 after 6 months. In grains treated with plant powders, germination varied from 30 to 90.67% after three months of storage; it decreased with increase in storage period -after five months, it varied from 9.67 to 73.67%, with the maximum and minimum being with products of Melia azedarach and Murraya koenigii, respectively.
