Online published on 30 November, 2021. Abstract The application of Elapsed Time Counter for power monitoring and warranty tracking system is relatively new arrival with reference to DS1682 IC embedded system. In this paper the authors propose the design and development of low power event logger system to monitor real-time power consumption of any random appliances with event logging. The system developed with REU project, for predicting the usage period of appliances in order to estimate the warranty based on the use rate information. The system detects and records on time elapsed and event count on each the EVENT. The present appliances the warranty is based on the date of purchase and calendar year and not on the usage time. The developed system provides the warranty based on usage time of the appliances. The device is in sleep mode until the event triggers and hence consumes very less amount of power.
