Abstract The study aimed to identify constraints associated with the organisation and its members and was carried out in the Purba Medinipur district. 30 organisational members were chosen from each of four purposefully selected FFPOs using a simple random sampling technique without replacement. Thus, a total of four FFPOs with 120 respondents constituted as sample of the study. A descriptive research design was used for the present study. The collected data were analysed using suitable statistical tools, and each constraint was ranked using its mean weighted score. The result of the study revealed that the main constraints encountered by the organization were improper storage and processing facilities, low production due to climate change and the occurrence of diseases, and high price of raw materials, etc. Constraints encountered by the members of the FFPO with regard to scientific fish farming were high incidence of diseases at the farm, the high cost of input materials, poaching and poisoning, and difficulty in identifying and getting quality fish seed, feed, and medicine, etc. These constraints significantly impacted the ability of FFPOs to manage their operations effectively and achieve their goals.
