Online published on 19 April, 2024. Abstract Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) were an emerging concept in India. It was the most viable option for small and marginal farmers to improve their income through collective actions. In order to replicate successful and sustainable FPOs, there is a need to delineate the factors contributing sustainability of the Producer Organizations. The present study was conducted in Rhythu Bandhu Farmer Producers Macs Ltd (RBFPL) and Prudulapuri Farmer Producers Macs Ltd (PFPL) in the Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh. The data were collected from 150 members of the organizations through a pretested structured interview schedule. The study revealed that two FPOs were involved in business activities and value chains. Institutional assistance, which includes the adoption of best agricultural practises, creation of new market connections, and the provision of management skills to farmers, is one of the key factors affecting the sustainability of FPO. The findings of the study also revealed that the factors like governance, management, participation, commitment and social equity had a significant association with the long-term sustainability of an organization.
