Isolation of an antifungal protein from Kiwifruits

Abstract

The protein isolated from kiwifruits exhibited antifungal activity against Fusarium oxysporum and Rhizoctonia solani and no inhibitory effect against Dematophora necatrix. The protein was isolated and purified using a procedure involving saline extraction, (NH4)2SO4 precipitation with 30–80% saturation.
