Online published on 27 November, 2019. Abstract Introduction Malaria is a disease caused by plasmodium which is transmitted by mosquitoes.. Malaria cases in Central Halmahera District during the period 2011 to 2018 amounted to 942. In 2011 there were 444 cases (API: 8.56‰) and than decreased to 2 cases (API: 0.03‰) in 2018. Material & Methods This study aims describe annual trend of Malaria for 8 years, malaria pattern by age group, malaria incidence by sex, malaria incidence based on plasmodium species, malaria program interventions & villages stratification in Central Halmahera District for eight years in a descriptive manner using secondary data. Finding Malaria incidences in Central Halmahera district has decreased every year from the High Case Incidence area category in 2011 to the Low case incidence area category in 2018. The incidence of malaria in Central Halmahera is dominated by men and is more common in adults most infections are caused by Plasmodium Falciparum. Conclusion Intensive prevention efforts through MBS, IRS, and distribution of bed nets treated with insecticides can effectively reduce malaria. All villages in the Central Halmahera district are categorized of Low Case Incidence Area in 2018 and ready to be assessed for Malaria-free areas certified.
