Abstract Medical emergency can happen to anybody but it is important to recognize the patient at risk, so that the treatment can be modified and the appropriate measures can be taken. A through medical history and drug history is mandatory and should be taken by the dentist in person. If the medical emergencies are not recognized and managed appropriately it can lead to significant morbidity and mortality. Therefore, the dental clinic should be well-equipped and dentist and the support staff must be adequately be trained to handle any medical emergencies, including provision of basic life support (BLS) in an effective manner. The prime requisite in managing an emergency is maintenance of proper position (P), Airway (A), Breathing (B), Circulation (C), and Definitive treatment (D). The purpose of this article is to provide a vision to the emergency drugs and resuscitation equipment used for the management of the medical and dental emergencies.
