Open field evaluation of rose cultivars under Pune, Maharashtra conditions

Abstract

The present experiment was carried out in the field of Directorate of Floriculture Research, Pune, Maharashtra during 2019-20 with the objective to evaluate the performance often rose varieties in open field conditions. The experiment was laid in randomized block design with ten rose genotypes viz Charishma, Kashmir Velvet, Abhisarika, Paradise, Sophia, Folklore, Peter Frankelfeld, Tenacious, Strawberry and Rose Sherbet replicated thrice and spaced at 60 cm x 90 cm. From the study it was revealed that among varieties, Folklore, Paradise, Tenacious, Peter Frankelfeld and Rose Sherbet emerged as promising varieties for loose flower production in open field conditions.
