Abstract The purpose of the present study was to assess the state-trait anxiety and self-efficacy of 120 retired (60 in the early phase, 60 in the late phase) college teachers, ages varying from 60 to 70 years. State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (Spielberger,1983) and General Self-efficacy Scale (Schwarzer; R., & Jerusalem, M.,1995) were administered to the subjects individually. The Levens F test for Equality of Variances, ‘t-test’ and Pearsons coefficient of correlation were applied for statistical analysis. Results revealed that there is no significant difference in state-trait anxiety and self-efficacy among retired teachers in the early and late phases of retirement. It is also found that there is a significant correlation between State-Trait Anxiety and Self Efficacy. Top Keywords Retirement, State-trait Anxiety, Self-efficacy. Top |
