Email. shivaniprime09@gmail.com 2Assistant Professor of Psychology, University of Lucknow (U.P.) Online published on 17 November, 2022. Abstract The purpose of this study was to explore the personality traits of married Indian couples and find out the gender difference in their personality traits. A sample of 30 married couples was selected from the Barabanki district. The researcher personally met the participants and administered the tool. The Indian adaptation of Big Five Personality Inventory (John & Srivastava, 1999) was used. Mean, SD and t-ratios were computed to analyze the data. The findings showed that there was no significant gender difference in personality traits of married males and females on the 4 dimensions of the personality. However, a significant difference was found on the dimension of Neuroticism (t=2.82>0.01 level). The results can be helpful in improving the relationship of married couples by applying an intervention plan. Top Keywords Extraversion, Gender, Married couples, Neuroticism, Personality traits.
