Phytochemistry is a branch of chemistry or botany that focuses on the study of naturally occurring chemical compounds in plants known as phytochemicals. The study utilized data from the Web of Science (WoS) database to provide an overview of research trends in phytochemistry. The findings of the research indicate a continuous increase in research activity in phytochemistry from 2017 to 2021. A total of 699 publications were identified during this period, suggesting a growing interest in the field. The study examined various parameters such as the top ten countries, organizations, and authors involved in phytochemistry research. The study identified the leading countries contributing to phytochemistry research, highlighting their level of engagement and productivity in the field. It explored the organizations and authors who made significant contributions to the scholarly literature on phytochemistry during the study period. The study also identified productive research areas within the field of phytochemistry. These areas represent the topics and subfields that received considerable attention and yielded a substantial number of publications during the analyzed timeframe.
