Abstract The study analyzed the information seeking behavior among social sciences & humanities faculty members: a survey of govt. degree colleges affiliated with CCS University-Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. A total of 292 questionnaires were distributed and 213 questionnaires were found fit for analysis. The present study demonstrates and elaborates the reasons for information needs, seeking information, various types of formal, informal and electronic information sources used by users, methods used for keeping abreast of current development, problems faced by the users in accessing information for research purposes, satisfaction with the library sources and services and other facilities available in the libraries.
