Abstract The exponential growth of information and technological advancements in information technology has made a tremendous change in the way of handling, storing and retrieving information in the libraries of today. To cater to the needs of the users in the present scenario the libraries are shifting from then traditional resources and services to digital resources and services. The present study focuses on the awareness, purpose, satisfaction and importance in the use of Digital Information Resources and Services amongst the users of Central Library of IIT Guwahati. The study reveals that among the digital information resources majority of users are aware of e-books and e-journals and find theses resources important for their study and research. The majority of respondents are aware of OPAC/Web OPAC service and are using the service very frequently. The findings of the study shows that the purpose of using digital information resources and services amongst the users is to search for relevant literature. 70.9% of the respondents are satisfied with the available digital information resources and services.
