Abstract A study was conducted at AICRP on Fruits (Citrus), Dr YSRHU, Citrus Research Station, Tirupati during 2016 to 2020 with five released varieties of acid lime, Pramalini and Vikram (VNMKV, Parbhani), Jai -Devi (TNAU, Coimbatore), Sai Sharbathi (MPKV, Rahuri) and Balaji (ANGRAU, Hyderabad) to evaluate the performance of commercial varieties for laterite soil of Andhra Pradesh. The trial was conducted for four consecutive years and the results indicated that Balaji is best suitable to Andhra Pradesh climatic conditions with maximum mean fruit yield (628 fruits/plant, 30.13 kg/plant, 8.35 t/ha) with high juice content (47.34%) and less canker disease incidence. And it was also noticed that acid lime Cv. Balaji is consistently giving maximum fruit yield since three consecutive years during summer (274 fruits/plant, 10.41 kg/plant, 2.88 t/ha) with high consumer acceptability. Hence Balaji variety has been recommended for cultivation in the laterite zone of Andhra Pradesh. Top Keywords Acid lime, Laterite soils, Andhra Pradesh, Fruit quality, Yield, Canke. Top |
