Abstract Today's businesses are so complex; the organizations are striving to with stated in the competition with unique competency. Many organisations burning issue is ambidexterity, which means balancing both employees behaviors namely exploration and exploitation, and to boost innovative performance through behaviours such as opening and closing of leaders. Ambidextrous leadership is an advanced leadership style. The present study measured the influence of this ambidextrous leadership style on the performance of the organization, in Information technology (IT) sector in Hyderabad, India, with 156 employees from 15 different IT companies. For measuring the impact linear regression model was used. The result of the model shows that, 69 percent of variance (R square) is described by the variables namely “ambidextrous leadership” and “firm performance”. The study shows the p-value is less than 5 percent level of significance. Hence, it is concluded that, the ambidextrous leadership has significant impact on firm performance.
