Abstract Since thyroid disorder is associated with many diseases and weaken the immune response, this research aims to study the effect of hypo-and hyper-thyrodisim on liver function and some immunological parameters such as C-reactive protein and transferrin. This study included forty patients were previously diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism, as well as healthy as control, male and female, in age group of 20–60 years. 5 ml of venous blood was collected from all subjects. Serums were used to determine the Hormones levels (TSH, T3, and T4) using a Cobas e411 system and Liver function and immunological parameters using Cobas Integra 400 plus. Total, direct, and indrect serum bilirubin were higher in the thyroid disorder (hyper-or hypo-thyrodisim) compared to control. GOT and GPT levels were significant higher in hyperthyroidism compared to hypothyroidism and control while no differences between hypothyroidism and control were detected. Transferrin and CRP levels were also significant higher in hyperthyroidism compared to hypothyroidism and control while no differences between hypothyroidism and control. TSH had positive correlation with total and direct serum bilirubin and transferrin and negative with GPT. T4 and T3 had positive correlation with GPT, GOT and CRP and negative with transferrin. As conclusion, thyroid disorders (hypo-or hyperthyroidism) effect negatively on liver function and immune parameters, and hyperthyroidism can be has more affects than hypothyroidism on these parameters.
