Abstract A career planning is the route map of a person's work life. It is the sequence of positions a person occupies during his lifetime. Earlier it was based upon the advancement and promotion of an individual in an organisation but in recent scenario it is defined in a holistic way to include aperson's attitude and experience based on this approach and extensive research conducted. It has been identified that a person goes through four different career stages during his adult growth and development. Plateau is a stage where an employee with get stagnated at a position for a long time with no opportunities for growth in career.
