Abstract

With the increase in active and healthy elderly individuals, the demand for highly aesthetic prosthodontic treatment is also increasing. Achieving a healthy-looking smile for a patient, through the reconstruction of missing teeth and surrounding soft tissue using aesthetic prosthetic material, is one of the most important duties of dentists. Denture characterisation is very effective for enhancing removable denture with more natural and pleasing appearance. This review article describes various efforts that were made for characterisation of denture base and teeth in a removable prosthesis.
