Abstract

Background

Tennis elbow or lateral epicondylalgia is a common painful condition of elbow which leads to pain over common extensor origin, muscle weakness, and reduction in upper limb function. There are very few researches are on muscle activity in the tennis elbow and the treatment of dry needling and Kinesiotaping.

Objective

To examine the effectiveness of dry needling versus kinesio taping in patients with tennis elbow.

Design

Quasi Experimental design

Methodology

It has two groups: GroupA-Dry Needling and Ultrasound therapy (n = 5) and Group B-Kinesiotaping and Ultra sound therapy (n = 5), age: 17 to 50 years, genders, SRM medical college hospital and research center, Kattankulathur.

Outcome Measures

Pain Pressure Threshold and Patient Rated Tennis Elbow Evaluation (PRTEE)

Result and Conclusion

From the results this is found that there was no significant difference of Pain Pressure Threshold and Patient Rated Tennis Elbow Evaluationbetween the Group A and Group B but there was significant difference of Pain Pressure Threshold and Patient Rated Tennis Elbow Evaluation within the Group. This concludes that there was effect in both dry needling and Kinesiotaping among patients with tennis elbow
